History

The firm that is today DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C., was founded in 1968 under the name DeConcini McDonald by Evo DeConcini, Dennis DeConcini and John R. McDonald.

Anyone familiar with Arizona and U.S. history will likely recognize those names as belonging to people who helped shape the state of Arizona and the United States Congress:

  • Evo DeConcini served as a Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court, Arizona Attorney General, Pima County Superior Court Judge, and a member of the Arizona Board of Regents
  • Dennis DeConcini served as Pima County Attorney and represented Arizona in the United States Senate from 1977 until his retirement in 1995
  • John McDonald served as President of the Arizona School Boards Association
Reflecting the historical impact of the DeConcinis in particular, several of Arizona’s landmark buildings bear the family name, including the Evo A. DeConcini U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building and the DeConcini Port of Entry at the United States/Mexico border crossing.
