The Arizona Trustee Association appointed DMYL Attorney Steven J. Itkin to serve as Chair of its Education Committee. Mr. Itkin has been a member of the Association for eight years and has been a member of the Association’s Legislative Committee, served on its Board of Directors, and was a Past Chair of the Education Committee during that time.
The Arizona Trustee Association was established in 1987, after trust deed industry members challenged a pending bill that included provisions that would have had significant adverse effects within the industry. Their experience inspired the formation of a professional association dedicated to education and lobbying for appropriate changes within the trust deed industry. Since its inception, the Association has worked to elevate trust deed industry standards and practices through legislative and educational outreach.
As the newly appointed Chair, Mr. Itkin will oversee the Education Committee’s efforts to provide pertinent educational opportunities for the Association’s monthly luncheon seminars and at the Association’s annual convention, which includes two days of educational classes.
Mr. Itkin has represented lenders for more than two decades and has prior experience as a licensed real estate agent in Arizona. His areas of practice include lien enforcement rights such as trustee’s sales, mortgage and tax lien foreclosures and forfeitures of contracts for sale of real property, as well as replevins, attachments, garnishments, agricultural liens, landlord liens and the defense of civil forfeiture actions.
